ABOUT THE ARTIST
Marlene Munroe de Montigny
Born in New Brunswick and raised in New Brunswick and Québec City.
She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts
degree from the Université du Québec before going on to study at the Center for
Advanced Visual Studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in
Cambridge, Massachusetts (M.I.T.).
She taught at the Fine Arts faculty of the
Université du Québec. In 1993, Amnesty International chose one of her paintings
for their poster. This honour was the subject of international television and
radio interviews.
Her paintings have been exhibited in Montréal,
Québec City, and Trois-Rivières, Québec, Boca Raton, Palm Beach and Vence,
France. Marlene has had two solo museum shows in Québec, Canada.
Marlene is now living and painting in
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where she is inspired by the beauty of the parks and gardens.
